Community Service for Adults

Providing community services and supports for adults with ASD

Goals:

• Identify current publicly funded supports and services in residential supports, housing, employment, recreation, transportation, education and health
• Identify best practice models in the public and private sector
• Identify barriers and address gaps in the services and supports available to adults
• Develop strategies to improve public and private sector awareness in employment, healthcare, housing, transportation, recreation, education, public safety and first responders
• Enhance collaboration and integration of services across the public and private sector
• Clarify issues and and address issues related to eligibility
• Identify supports for families who continue to care for adult family members with ASD
• Develop a plan to improve self-determination and self-advocacy for adults
• Address availability, competency, training, and quality of care providers
